New York State Bar Association opens inquiry into removing Trump's personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani from its membership

Image
The  New York State Bar Association (NYSBA) has announced it has taken the extraordinary move of opening an inquiry into the removal of President Trump's personal lawyer, Rudy Giuliani from its membership. According to an NYSBA statement, on Monday, January 11, the organization received hundreds of complaints in recent months regarding Giuliani's efforts to challenge the veracity of the 2020 presidential election on the President's behalf.     The organization also feels Guilani's actions and words also spurred Trump supporters to invade the Capitol on Jan. 6, according to the statement. Even if the NYSBA removes his memebership, they cannot dibar him as the organization is a voluntary bar association, so the ousting would not prevent him from representing President Trump in an impeachment trial or other pending litigation against him.     "This decision is historic for NYSBA, and we have not made it lightly. We cannot stand idly by and allow those i...

Image
President Donald Trump has reportedly told close aides he plans to pardon himself and his family members in the final days of his White House administration amid calls for his removal from the Oval Office.   The news comes as Democratic and Republican lawmakers condemned the president’s conduct after his supporters stormed the Capitol building during the certification of President-elect Joe Biden’s victory in the 2020 elections on Wednesday.    According to the New York Times, Mr. Trump has specifically asked about the legal implications of giving himself a presidential pardon before leaving the White House.    The president has also reportedly considered issuing pardons to his family members, including Ivanka Trump, Eric Trump, and Donald Trump Jr, as well as aides like Jared Kushner and his personal attorney, former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani.    Mr. Trump suggested to advisers he was concerned about the incoming administration potentia...

We will never give up, we will never concede' - Donald Trump tells supporters as US Congress convenes to affirm President-elect Joe Biden's victory in the November election

Image
U.S. President Donald Trump on Wednesday January 6, told supporters that he would never concede the 2020 presidential election to President-elect Joe Biden as Congress convened to affirm the Democrat's victory in the November election.   “The media is the biggest problem we have,” Trump said in the opening moments of his address to a crowd of tens of thousands in the National Mall at the “Save America” rally. He once again falsely accused “the media” of helping to “rig” the election results in favor of his Democratic challenger, President-elect Joe Biden.   “We will never give up. We will never concede,” Trump said. The rally crowd at times chanted “USA! USA! USA!” After Trump used the vulgarity, the chant shifted to “Bullshit! Bullshit! Bullshit!”   He urged Vice President Mike Pence to help overturn Joe Biden’s victory in the November election when Congress sits later to certify the Electoral College votes.   “If Mike Pence does the right thing we win the el...

Joe Biden blasts Trump administration as irresponsible; accuses US defence department of obstruction on transition

Image
US President-elect, Joe Biden has accused the Trump administration of "irresponsibility" for failing to give his team the information it needs for the transition of power.   He said his team had encountered "obstruction from the political leadership" when it enquired for necessary information from the Department of Defence. Biden, who has been certified by the Electoral College as the winner of the November 2020 election, also claimed that agencies critical to US security have suffered "enormous damage" under Donald Trump. Biden takes office on 20 January but  Trump has refused to concede and for weeks after the election, Biden was blocked from receiving key intelligence briefings, an essential routine during a presidential transition.   Trump then finally agreed to allow the formal transition process last month, receiving praise from Biden .   But following a briefing from Biden's National Security Team late Monday night, December 28, Biden has now ...

DONAID TRUMP AND POPULAR MEDIA IN HEATED FIGHT

Image
News host Neil Cavuto defended himself and his network after a series of attacks from the US President Donald Trump. At the beginning of this week, Trump raised a complaint about his coverage on the network and stated that "Fox isn't working for us anymore!" encouraged his supporters to change the channel.  But Cavuto fired back with a declaration of independence. Statement below “First of all, Mr. President, we don’t work for you. I don’t work for you,” he said on Thursday. “My job is to cover you, not fawn over you or rip you. Just report on you ― call balls and strikes on you.”  Both Fox News and Fox Business feature numerous opinion shows where hosts routinely shower Trump with praise. But the networks also have news operations that report on his plunging poll numbers, his failure to keep campaign promises and his many lies.  Cavuto shared some of those falsehoods on Thursday: “I’m not the one who said tariffs are a wonderful thing...
