A 27-year-old man is now fighting for his life in hospital after his mobile phone exploded.
The man was holding the phone when it exploded in a car park, Daily Star UK reports.
Queensland Police were called to a car park in Lutwyche, Brisbane, Australia, on Monday December 28 following reports of an explosion at around 11am.
The 27-year-old is understood to have been in his car allegedly under the influence of alcohol or drugs pulling apart mobile phones.
One of the devices is reported to have exploded in his hand while he was in the process of destroying the communication device.
He is said to have suffered serious burns as a result of the explosion and was taken to Brisbane Royal and Women’s Hospital.
According to The Australian, the man went into cardiac arrest on route to the medical centre and is considered in a critical condition.
